Home Surveillance Systems

home surveillance systemsProperty crime continues to soar.  Personal crimes continue to soar.  No matter what market or locale you’re in, the chances of someone burglarizing or vandalizing your property is greater today than ever before.  This explains why sales of home surveillance systems is skyrocketing.

All types of home surveillance systems are seeing a huge surge in sale.  From indoor hidden nanny cams and wireless ip security cameras to outdoor security camera systems and dummy outdoor security cameras, sales are up across the board.  It only makes sense.  People are trying to do two things here.  First, by installing these systems outside the home, they’re trying to tell burglars and vandals to keep moving down the road, don’t try here, you’ll get busted.  Hopefully, this averts the crime altogether, at least at their home.  Secondly, the indoor systems are to catch the evidence needed to put the criminals away in prison.  By getting the video footage, it’d be difficult to have any attorney get them off.

ip security cameraHere’s something that’s pretty cool.  Let’s say you need to keep any eye on your place, but you don’t want to install a full blown surveillance system.  And, lets say you’d like to be notified when someone is actually moving around in your home when you’re not there.  Well, an IP Security Camera may just be what you need.

An IP Security Camera, either wired or wireless, is easy to install.  Simply position the security camera where you want to keep an eye on.  Connect it up to your computer, usually, with just a USB plug.  Install some simple software and you’re pretty much up and going.  Now, configure it so that if it senses motion, it sends an email to you alerting you that something is awry.  You’ll get an email with a link inside.  Click the link and you’ll be able to watch live video footage of whatever you aimed the camera at.  These security cameras are really pretty inexpensive and they’re simple to install and set up.  You’ll be able to keep an eye on things when you’re away.

IP Security Camera Makes it Simple

Are you needing or wanting to monitor your home or business while you’re away, but don’t want to mess with spending big dollars for equipment for expensive monthly monitoring?  An IP Security Camera may just be what you need and want.

First, an IP Security Camera can be purchased, depending on model and features for between $1-200.  They are incredibly simple to use and only require a computer with an internect connection.  In its simplest form of direction, you simply place the camera in the area you want to monitor.  You then run the wires to your pc.  The IP Security Camera will come with some software you’ll need to load and once done, you’ll be able to view the camera on your computer.  Now, if you want to stream the video onto the internet, you’ll need to input the settings into the software adn voila!  That’s about it.  Most cameras will allow you to set the camera in standby mode and if, and only if, it senses motion, then, it will turn on and send an email to a predetermined email address, alerting you to view the movement going on inside your home or business.  Cool and affordable!

IP Security Camera and the PC

One cool thing about hooking up an IP Security Camera is just how simple they are to install and operate.

The IP Security Camera should come with all that is needed to use it.  It should have its own software that takes only minutes to load onto any modern PC.  Connecting a cable or two from the security camera to the pc, which takes only a moment, is about all that has to be done.  I mean, you still have to turn it on and position the camera where you want it to capture the view you need.

But, now, after having done just those few things, you have the ability to store the video onto the PC or even cooler, stream it to another location.  In literally, just minutes, you can have an internet based security system which will allow you to monitor what’s going on at work or at home.  Pretty cool.  Pretty simple.  Pretty affordable.

IP Security Camera

If you’re looking for a quick and easy want to install and monitor a particular area of your home or office, you might just want to check into an IP Security Camera.

An IP Security Camera allows anyone to quickly and easily set up a camera and run a connecting cable to a pc.  With a quick install of software onto the computer, the camera can now stream video images onto the internet.  This allows the user to monitor their home or office while they’re away without paying for expensive monitoring services.

These cameras are also available in wireless versions so the camera can be placed further from the computer and still be connected quickly.  It also makes it harder for a thief or stealing employee to know you’ve hidden a camera in, say, a plant or whereever.

Personal Police

Can’t afford to have your own personal police department stationed outside your home?  Me neither.  But, with today’s home surveillance systems, you may not need them.

I mean, the home surveillance systems that are available today have some pretty incredible features.  For instance, I recall one scenario where two thugs broke into a lady’s home.  Her wireless IP security camera sensed motion and turned on, whereby sending an email to her at work.  She clicked on the link and saw the two burglars going through her house.  A quick call to 911 and within minutes the police were there.

The burglars went to jail.  None of her stuff was missing because she caught them in the act.  And, she was relieved that the small amount she invested in her system paid off nicely.

Protect your Home

Unfortunately, the goal of a home surveillance system is generally to videotape someone breaking in so you can catch them after the fact.  And, while this is a far cry better than letting some crook go free, I’d like to see improvements in either preventing a home break-in altogether or at least catch the burglar during the act.

Adding an IP security camera to your home surveillance system is one way of doing the latter.  I’ve heard of several cases where, when properly installed, the IP security camera detected motion, turned on, sent an email to the homeowner who logged in and saw robbers in their home.  With a quick dial to 911, cops showed up and carried the idiots away, all without a loss to the homeowner other than a small broken window or such.

There are other things that can be done to actually deter a would be criminal, but the above is definitely a great improvement to a home security system.

They’re Everywhere

It seems like these days that spying eyes are virtually everywhere.  I mean, satellites in the sky, IP security camera hidden in the home, traffic cameras watching the intersections, they almost are everywhere.

I guess its a good thing.  I mean, a security camera in the parking lot this time of year may catch some really important footage.  And, an IP security camera in your home might catch a burglar breaking in to take the things from around your tree.  Of course, satellites in the sky watching other countries are a good thing.  But, I’m not sure I’m crazy about them watching me.

What are you gonna do, though.  Technology has advanced such that these things are relatively inexpensive, especially when compared to the potential dollars of theft or the value of a life.  So, I guess we just have to deal with it, huh?

IP Security Camera

There are a number of ways people can keep an eye on things while they’re away from home.  However, increasingly people are using an IP Security Camera to watch their home while they’re at work or wherever.

An IP security camera allows the user to quickly and easily connect the camera to their computer.  The camera can either be a wireless version or wired version.  The wireless version transmits the video signal from the camera to a receiver placed near the computer, which is then plugged into the computer.  The wired version transmits the video signals directly to the computer through wires (which can be a little unsightly and more obvious).  The camera then streams the live video signal over the internet and the user can log in at work or some place and monitor the goings on.

Depending upon the sophistication of the particular model used, the camera can either be “always on” or it can send an email with a link to the user’s email address alerting them that motion has been detected and to monitor the video which begins streaming upon the motion detection.

The quick and easy set up, along with the simplicity of operation of these cameras, make them a wonderful choice for almost anyone wanting to monitor their home.
