Various Personal Security Alarms

When people start looking into getting a personal security alarm, often times they’re surprised to find out how big of a selection there.  Not only are their various brands of these security alarms, but there are a number of various features, too.

For instance, the first thing I always tell people to look at when considering personal security alarms is to find out how loud the siren is.  The loudest I’ve ever seen are 130 decibels.  To put that in perspective, most car alarms have 120db alarms.  So, 130db is extremely loud.  120db is good.  But, 110db, in my opinion, is not real loud.  Secondly, consider whether a flashlight is needed.  And, if so, do you just want a small pin light or do you want an ultra bright LED that can blind someone or do you want a pulsating strobe that will disorient an attacker?  Other features include the ability to clip onto a keyring, double up as a door alarm and even protect an entire room.  So, take a little time to get one that is just right for you.
