Diversion Safe aka Dorm Safe

I’ve had diversion safes for about as far back as I can remember.  Some people call them dorm safes or can safes or hidden safes.  But, in essence, they’re all the same thing.

The diversion safe, aka dorm safe, is an everyday type product like a Dr Pepper Can, a can of hairspray, soup can, dog food can or some other product, which is not full.  The makers of these dorm safes put an opening on the bottom of the can to allow the user to store valuables like jewelry, coins, cash or something else.  Then, the can gets set where ever a product like that would normally be found.  The food type products might go into the pantry while the hairspray or shaving cream can might be stored in the bathroom.  The cans are weighted so that if someone were to pick up the can, they’d think it was a real product and not know that things are hidden inside.  If a burglar comes in, they’ll not know where your stuff is hidden.
