Home Surveillance Systems

You can find complete home surveillance systems in kits in many places.  And, you can find these kits in a varying degree of sizes and configurations.  But, before you start shopping, take a few minutes to consider your layout of needed cameras so that you can buy the most appropriate system for your need.

Sketch out on paper your property, then take a few minutes and decide where you’d like to put cameras.  This will help you determine the overall quantity of camera heads you’ll need.  Second, determine if they all need to be working cameras or if a couple can be fake surveillance cameras.  Once you know how many real working cameras you’ll need, you will know the size of the DVR you need.  You can now determine if you need or want any of the cameras to be wireless or if they’ll all be hard wired. Now, you’re ready to begin shopping for home surveillance systems.  You can compare kits quite easily on the internet to find the system that is best for your needs.

Flashlight Stun Gun

flashlight stun gunThere are many types of stun guns available.  Some are mini stun guns  like the lipstick stun gun from Stun Master or the Barracuda BC30.  And, some are stun batons like the ZAP Stun Baton, which is my personal favorite, or the Stun Master SM500SB 500,000 volt stun baton.  And, there’s even a stun cane by ZAP.  And, in addition to traditional style stun guns there are the flashlight stun guns.

One particular model that I find highly effective and is also a personal favorite is the ZAPL ZAP Flashlight Stun Gun.  Encased in a very heavy duty, high quality aluminum, it is an incredibly bright flashlight, with multiple Ultra-Bright LEDs.   But, it is also a 1 million volt stun gun that is capable of dropping an attacker to the ground.  Complete with a built in battery and AC charger, so you don’t have to worry about keeping batteries around for it, you’ll find this weapon to be a great choice to own.

Stun Gun Knuckles

There’s a particular self defense weapon that is really taking the exercise market by storm.  You see, with how bad crime has gotten, everyone, and I mean EVERYONE is a target.  Joggers and Walkers are no exception.  As they’re out doing their exercise, they are increasingly becoming targets of attacks, muggings and more.  Their weapon of choice is overwhelmingly Stun Gun Knuckles.

I know, not many people have heard of these unique non lethal weapons before.  But, here’s why the stun gun knuckles are the weapon of choice, even over pepper spray.  You see, exercise folks typically move with their hands clinched.  And, where’s the best place for a weapon when you need it?  In your hands, right?  Of course.  Well, these unique weapons fit perfectly into a clinched hand.  And, when the buttons are needed to defend with, they are literally right at the fingertips of the user.  So, an attacker can be popped quickly and effectively.

Security Cameras for the Dummy?

Nope.  They aren’t security cameras for the dummy.  They are, however, dummy security cameras.  These may well prove to be the best buy in the home surveillance equipment market.  Here’s why….

Dummy Security cameras are a great investment because they typically work by “telling” a would be burglar that your home or office is protected by a security camera system.  So, hopefully, the burglar or vandal just moves on down the road.  But, you as a buyer, don’t have to buy or install a real security camera system that can cost hundreds if not thousands.  Simply buy a few dummy security cameras and place them around your property in conspicuous places.  They are inexpensive to buy because they don’t have real camera equipment inside them and they don’t require expensive cabling and monitoring equipment.  They can typically be installed in minutes as you only have to drive a few screws.  The best part of them is that they’re made by the same makers of real security cameras.  So, they look 100% genuine.

Can’t Write with a Stun Pen

stun penMany people like to get discrete stun guns so they can have them on hand, but not really be noticed as being armed.  And, when they hear of a stun pen, they think they may have found the perfect self defense weapon.  And, while these units are highly effective, they’re not necessarily what the person imagines.

You see, Stun Pens are not a stun gun that look like a writing pen. While there ARE pepper sprays that look like a writing pen, these stun guns are not like that.  The term stun pen simply refers to the overall shape of being long and narrow.  However, these units are typically much fatter than a writing instrument. And, they really don’t look like a pen.  Check out the Stun Master 1.2 Million Volt Stun Pen with Flashlight or any of the ZAP Stick models and you’ll see what I’m talking about.  Again, these units are highly effective and they’re still fairly small.  They simply do no look like a writing pen.

TASERS for Sale

Monday, May 30, 2011
posted by SmartStun 12:10 PM

Since crime has continued to skyrocket and the economy stays in a horrible state, it seems that every Tom Dick and Harry are cleaning their closet to generate some extra cash and to take advantage of some unsuspecting fool.  That’s why you’re seeing a lot of ads for Tasers for sale on craigslist and local newspapers.

But, buyer beware of tasers for sale.  And, here’s why:  You’re trusting your life and the safety of your loved ones to whatever weapon you carry to protect yourself with.  How comfortable should you be not knowing the real condition of the electronics inside that weapon?  You have no idea how effective it will be when you need it.  Sure, it may appear to fire up and do what its supposed to.  But, you don’t really know if you’re face to face with an attacker if your taser gun will shoot effectively and drop the target to the ground.  Its not worth trying to save a few bucks to put your life on the line unnecessarily.

Secret Camera

Saturday, May 28, 2011

These days, you really have to be on your toes.  Not only are people snooping and tricking and trying to catch people in awkward situations, but technology has developed to the point where its now much easier to snoop and spy on people.  You can find a secret camera built into a pen or a watch or a wall clock.  You can find buttons on clothes that have a secret camera.  Virtually anything can become a hidden spy camera.

So, just know that whether it’s google watching you or a spouse or someone devious, you always have to be on your best behavior.  I guess, as weird as it sounds, maybe all this will make the world a better place as people become fearful of being caught doing something.  Nawww, I don’t buy it.  most of the population will still be fairly decent, but there will always be a certain amount of people that are up to no good.  And, I guess those people deserve to be caught in the act of something they shouldn’t be doing.  Watch out for the secret camera, though…

Personal Security Alarms

Saturday, May 28, 2011
posted by SmartStun 3:10 PM

Let’s face it, no matter where you go or who you are, you’re a target these days.  Going to the grocery store or mall or even the Post Office and you never know what or who you might encounter.  Crime continues to increase as the economy continues to worsen and more and more people are having to take desperate measures just to scrape by.  And, as such, personal security alarm sales are skyrocketing.

There are many types of personal security alarms, but suffice it to say, that most offer a very loud siren that gets set off by the user in the event of an attack.  The intent is to call attention to the situation of anyone nearby.  Some alarms are louder than others.  Some are small and fit on a keyring.  Some are larger.  Some even have flashlights integrated within.  And, some stun guns also are now having personal security alarms integrated into an all in one protection unit.  Not a bad idea, I don’t think.

Cell Phone Stun Guns

posted by SmartStun 2:46 PM

cell phone stun gunsStun guns are continuing to increase in prevalence.  More and more people are feeling comfortable with them.  And, along with that, manufacturers are increasing the makes and models available of these non lethal weapons.  While some people like to display their stun gun while they’re out and about as a means to fend off an attack before it begins, many people prefer a discrete stun gun.

Cell phone stun guns are increasingly popular.  Because, as opposed to other discrete stun guns like a stun pen, the cell phone stun gun appears to be an actual item.  So, people don’t give it another thought.  Many of these models, like the Pretender, pack in a huge 4.5 million volts.  And, they’re available in black or pink, so this particular model is quite popular.  But, regardless of whether you want a discrete unit or a very visible model, now that you’re sure to find a very good weapon with just a minimal of searching.

Check Out Cameras for Home Security

Friday, May 27, 2011
posted by SmartStun 3:18 PM

cameras for home securityPeople are looking into various ways to protect their home and businesses these days.  Its hard.  On the one hand, no one really has spare cash to invest in security.  But, if you don’t invest, chances are you’ll end up spending even more in losses and repairs.  So, people are checking into cameras for home security.

Fortunately, there are two types of cameras for home security.  There are both real cameras and fake surveillance cameras.  So, you can either buy a full system with functioning cameras and recording devices so you’ll have actual video footage if something should happen.  Or, you can invest much much less by buying fake surveillance cameras and take the approach that perhaps a burglar or vandal will be deterred by simple fact of seeing the cameras.  They can’t tell they’re not real, so hopefully they’ll just take off.  The fake cameras are much less expensive and can be installed very quickly.  So, you might check them out.  But, of course, you won’t have any video if something bad should happen.  So, of course, there’s a trade off.
