Whether you’re needing a cane or walking stick to walk with and want protection or you want some form of lengthy protetion against attacking dogs, the ZAP Stun Cane is very much worth considering. They extend up to 36″ in length, good for tall people using a cane to walk with or good for reaching into an attacking dog’s body. The deliver enough amperage and shock to stop any dog and most human attackers, too.
For dog’s though, they typically don’t even have to touch the animal. Animal’s can generally sense the negative electrical charge in the air and they hear the electricity. They know something “not nice” is happening and, 9 times out 10, will stop a full on charge just upon a test fire of the stun gun or stun cane.
They have a built in rechargeable battery and an ultra bright LED flashlight integrated into the handle for easy access. Don’t delay in ordering, though, Christmas Season is almost upon us and, it seems that no matter how much inventory of canes we order each Fall, the manufacture is unable to keep up with demand and the cane sells out into back order status rather quickly.
Its a great weapon and protection.

Oftentimes, people ask us which stun gun they should get. And, this is a reasonable question to ask. However, the answer is not always so simple. There are several factors that have to be taken into account.
Primarily, someone will need to consider what style and shape of stun gun to get that they will be able to carry and use effectively. Some like mini stun guns because they are small and some like batons as they offer a reach, especially towards an aggressive, attacking dog.
But, one thing that will always need to be achieved, is to obtain a stun gun that has high amperage. 3 milliamps is pretty much the average for good quality stun guns and this is generally sufficient. However, the Barracuda line of stun guns delivers 4.5 milliamps, a full 50% increase over most.
The sales volume of stun guns over the past few months has just exploded! It seems people all around the country are either concerned that crime is heading their way or they’ve already been impacted and are arming themselves. Whatever the reason, people are continually wanting to know which stun guns to get.
This is really a personal matter as everyone is different in terms of what they are wanting to protect against and what their specific situation is. But, bottom line, getting a good quality stun gun is paramount. With that being said, let me first cover what is NOT a good stun gun. Any stun gun that pushes ultra high voltage, say, more than 5 million volts is most definitely NOT a good quality stun gun. This may go against conventional wisdom, but it certainly does NOT go against technical reason. Here’s why…..
A battery is the source of the voltage and the “stun”, or amperage, of a stun gun. And, whatever battery is used can only produce so much voltage and amperage. Technically speaking, once a stun gun starts producing so much voltage, it comes by reducing the amount of amperage, or “stun”, that can be produced. And, the point I’m making here is what good is super high voltage that doesn’t produce enough of the “stun” to do anything? Voltage does not stun anyone. Amperage is what penetrates into the body causing mental and physical confusion and spasms. So, don’t be fooled by ultra high voltage.
Secondly, any stun gun that costs, oh, say $10 is not going to be a good quality stun gun. I mean, think about it. Most good quality stun guns cost from $40-75, some a little more, but this is a reasonable amount to spend to buy a stun gun. These cheap stun guns on ebay for $8 – $20 are just that, cheap stun guns. Don’t buy them…..or, at least don’t buy them to protect yourself with because they won’t do any good.
Now, beyond that, there are many good choices of stun guns. I’ll list a few brands here so you can research them and find the model that will work best for you. Omega Stun Guns, Stun Master Stun Guns, ZAP Stun Guns, Phazzer Stun Guns and The Runt Stun Gun are all good quality products. For one last point, the Barracuda Stun Guns are the highest amperage stun guns available as they produce 4.5 milliamps of current. Again, amperage is the “stun” that people feel. 5 milliamps is considered lethal. So, 4.5 milliamps is almost to that lethal limit.
I don’t think it’ll come as any surprise that sales of all self defense weapons are skyrocketing. With how bad the economy is and with how bad crime has gotten in most major US cities, people are having to take drastic measures to protect themselves. And, because of this, stun gun sales are increasing in almost every category.
That’s right, stun gun sales to California, Texas, Colorado, Washington, Florida, even many of the the smaller states are going off the charts. They’re easy to carry, yet highly effective. And, they’re generally quite affordable. One customer called last week and ordered a 4 pack of Barracuda Stun Guns, one for each member of their family. They were in St Petersburg, Florida. And, another couple ordered 2 taser guns. They lived in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
So, yes, even in the heartlands of Kansas and Oklahoma, people are taking up whatever means necessary to protect themselves. We’ve had a rash of orders from the Midwest. It seems that stun batons are probably the single most common type of product being ordered, but truly, almost all models and styles of these weapons are getting attention and getting ordered.

I read blogs and forums all the time where people are saying to either get a stun gun or don’t get a stun gun for protection, depending on their various viewpoint. And, in most cases, people, due to their varying needs, situations and opinions, are right. So, the question needs to be asked, “Should you get a stun gun for protection?”
Well, that depends. You might consider the following in helping you determine whether you should get a stun gun:
1. First and foremost, will you carry it? Many people buy them, but don’t get it out of their purse when they’re outdoors. So, when someone comes upon them, they’re helpless and don’t have time to get their weapon.
2. Will you keep it charged? Many people start out with good intentions, kind of like New Year’s Resolutions, but don’t follow through with them.
3. Will you buy a stun gun that you feel comfortable with using if you need it? Some people do lots of research, then spend $40, $50 $60, but when it comes time to use the unit, they’ve not practiced with it and don’t feel comfortable using it as they’re simply too meek and timid
My recommendation is this: Commit to yourself that you will do whatever necessary to protect you and your loved ones; do research to find the best self defense weapon that works for you; carry it; practice with it; be prepared to use it. If you’ll do these things, you stand a much better chance of taking care of yourself when you need to.
I took a phone call the other day from someone inquiring about getting a taser gun for their wife. And, my initial response was to ask if they were considering a C2 or M26 or what. But, that’s when my senses took over and I knew to ask something like: have you been looking at anything so far that has caught your attention?
He went on to say, yes, he had. He was looking at a Stun Master product. And, that’s when I knew he wasn’t really looking for a Taser Gun for his wife, but rather a stun gun. TASER Guns are a particular brand of product that actually shoot electrodes out up to 15 feet towards a target. And, kinda like “Kleenex”, people use that word interchangeably with a host of various, non-Kleenex products. The same was true here.
The gentleman, did in fact, end up purchasing a nice stun gun from us. But, as I recall, it was not a Stun Master, as he ended up going with an Omega branded unit. He wanted something that was visually menacing and the Star Warrior is about as visual as stun guns and stun batons come.
The Christmas Holidays are nearing and its time to start thinking about what to buy for your loved ones. It seems each year it gets harder and harder to think of something for most people. One thing they’re probably not expecting is a Stun Gun. What better to give someone you love than the security of a self defense weapon?
Many people are saying that the years ahead are going to be quite difficult for the United States. High unemployment and underemployment, expected high inflation and just a sincere lack of hope is expected to cause riots and a severe increase in crime. Rapes, murders, burglaries and muggings are all already going sky high in many metropolitan areas. And, most experts agree, the tough times are only beginning. A Stun Gun may be just the perfect weapon for self defense. They aren’t lethal, so most users feel relatively “at ease” in picking them up and getting familiar with them. A handgun, while very effective, frightens many would be users. And, so, in that case, they aren’t necessarily effective.
But a stun gun, pepper spray or Taser gun might just be the best present Santa could bring. Even Santa is looking far and wide for new gifts and he loves SmartStun.com to supply him with all the necessary weapons to protect Rudolph and Dancer and Prancer as he goes around the world on that one night a year. In towns and cities and rural countryside all around the world, people are trying to get at him and steal and rob and beat him for what he’s got in the bag. But, now, thanks to SmartStun, he’s ready with Real Self Defense.
We’ve all either had it happen to us or at least feared having it happen. You’re walking along when a dog, out of no where, charges you ready to attack and bite. Well there is a way to prevent that dog from going any further that will not harm the dog and prevent you from being harmed.
Simply by carrying a stun gun and giving a test fire into the air is usually enough to stop the dog in its tracks. They sense the electrical charge and know not to go any further. If, for some reason, the dog is over-adrenalined and is still coming, you can make contact with them and the stun gun, firing it and, as long as the stun gun is of good quality, the dog will stop.
For some, a stun baton is prefered as they are a little longer, giving generally 12-24 inches of distance between the dog and the user. Or even a stun cane is a great item to carry, as they typically offer a distance of 32-36 inches between you and the dog. The cane is truly nice if the dog actually needs contact with the stun gun since they offer such a great distance between the user and the dog.
For many, the best place to buy a stun gun is online. I mean, there are so many different choices available and so much hype about each one, that it can be difficult to sift through all the hoopla.
But, online, one can most easily buy stun gun because they can easily be compared. Once the shopper finds a model that seems to fit their needs, a quick search for reviews on the model can turn up valuable input from someone who has actully purchased the particular model. Then, once a model has been selected, searching for that particular model will turn up several retailers. Upon reviewing each retailer’s site, a comparison of prices can be done to find the best price or supplier that you’ll feel most comfortable with.
This day and age, most stun guns can be bought online from suppliers who provide free shipping and no issue with returning the unit should the item just not be what the shopper thought it would be. The internet has truly provided us with an invaluable tool and a tool of extreme convenience. Its no wonder that so much shopping gets done on the internet. And, I think this is a big reason why companies like UPS are positioning themselves to continue substantial growth in the future.
So, it was just before closing time at out brick and mortar store when a guy came in wearing a pretty heavy coat and who looked a little out of place. Now, I try not to prejudge people, but I still have to be cautious, especially since my wife and daughter work with me. So, I eased over to the counter area where we keep our stun gun. I reached down and grabbed it and proceeded to head out to the sales floor.
The guy moved through different sections of the store looking at things. And, I kept thinking to myself, “Okay, its almost 80 degrees outside and this guy is wearing a fairly heavy coat.” It just didn’t make sense. In an attempt to make him think I had the upper hand, I disappeared into a back store room and came out with my hand sort of tucked into the back of my pants. You know, kind of like if I had just stuffed handgun down there. I moved into a position where I now had him blocked. I could tell he felt quite uneasy.
After about 30 seconds, he looked at me, smiled and said thanks and left. That was A-Okay with me. No trouble and now we could close. I’m glad I didn’t have to use my stun gun, but I’m also glad knowing I had it if I needed it. Protection these days is more and more necessary and none of us can afford to take any chances.
